Family Fun Day
Wow! What a day we had. Many thanks to the people of Northallerton and especially to the Jolly Minister for hosting this event. We took the place over. Filled with stalls and activities with balloons and a disco to boot, with Black Widow and Edward Kenway making a special guest appearance.

We had no idea what to expect. Karen was raring to go 2 hours before the doors opened. A few minutes before 2pm Sophie informed us "People are waiting to get in". Shocked and stunned at this, the doors opened for a busy couple of hours. Abby deserves a special call out as she did not stop and even recruited her sister to help out with the face painting.

We are truly overwhelmed by the support from the day and cannot wait to do our next one.

Special shout out to Mille for naming our mascot, please flick through the pictures to find the name.

We raised a whopping £438.05 from the day. Not sure where the 5p came from, but all donations are greatfully received. Thank-You
Walk from Northallerton To Darlington
05-Dec-2021
Raising awareness for mens' mental health the team walked 23.4 miles from Northallerton Football Club to Darlington Rugby Club.

Karen:
"We made it. So super proud of my walking team, so proud. We set off from Northallerton football club and within minutes we were soaked through, I mean my britches were soaked. The weather really has not been on our side, we had maybe fifteen minutes of dry and pretty warm weather. This alone made the walk even harder as we still had such a long way to go. After the brief sunshine, came wind so strong it was blowing with rain and sleet directly at us. I think we have had literally all the seasons in one day. We reached the half way point and nipped into a pub who had both open fires going for us.
Our cheerleasders all met us there with hot drinks and snacks and we had a chance to dry off somewhat before we headed back out into the turbulent weather. By this point a few of us were really feeling it, not just physically but mentally too, the rain just didn't stop!
What an amazing team we had though, supporting each other and spurred on which really did make the treck that little bit easier. The weather slowed us down somewhat but we kept going and before we knew it we had four miles left to go. I can't tell you the joy we felt when the arena was in view, thank God it was raining because I did get a little teary and my face looked like it was wet with the rain and not with the tears of joy!.
Not only was this a mammoth challenge for me but it was for us all. We did it, we came together and we did it!! We didn't get there till around 6:30 ish, a few hours behind schedule but it was fine, we had battled through and we did it. Feeling proud is a massive under statement!!!
Well done team you were truly amazing and I'm grateful for each of you.
Home dry clothes on heating cracked up and tea made by my boy!
Thank you to you all for all your support!
Over and out"
